The Ross County Historical Society exists to ensure that the people of Ross County are ever mindful of the significance of the history of the area in which they live and are aware of how the past affects their lives today and in the future. Toward that end, we identify, collect, and preserve the tangible evidence of the history of Chillicothe and Ross County, and we use that evidence to foster an understanding of the past through programs that inspire, stimulate, and educate all who participate in them. We carry out this mission in association with others and by fostering a nurturing environment for all who participate in our efforts. While our focus is on the past, we exist to help build a better present and future for those who live in our area and for all individuals who use our services and participate in our activities.
